She gave birth to her third child in December. And Kate Winslet showed off her impressive post-baby body in an all-black number at the European Premiere of Divergent in London’s Leicester Square on Sunday.
The 38-year-old star – who plays who plays Jeanine Matthews, leader of the Erudite faction, in the film – showcased her figure on the red carpet in her strapless gown, and she showed off a hint of leg thanks to the outfit’s knee-length split. Kate – who gave birth to son Bear in December – accentuated her look with a slick of pillar box red lipstick and accessorised her attire with some simple jewellery.
She wowed in the floor-length outfit as she strolled down the carpet, on which she posed for pictures with her co-stars Shailene Woodley and Theo James. The blonde star was seen embracing Shailene – who plays lead character Beatrice in the sci-fi action movie – as they pair signed autographs for their fans. Several other stars also attended the premiere including Laura Whitmore, who wore a cutaway jumper dress with gold pendants.
The film’s director Neil Burger opted for a black jacket and trousers together with a navy blue shirt for the occasion. Divergent author Veronica Roth was also in attendance, wearing an off-the-shoulder LBD with matching pumps and clutch bag.
It is her three novels that have formed the foundation for this latest young adult fantasy film franchise, which tells the story of a futuristic society which sees its population divided into five distinct factions based on their personalities.
However, some members like Beatrice ‘Tris’ Prior find that they are not so easily categorised into one faction and so she finds herself on a mission to reveal the truth and prevent further destruction to the world that they know.
Kate’s appearance at the event comes after she recently revealed she and husband Ned Rocknroll decided to name their son Bear because they met in unusual circumstances when a house fire broke out on Richard Branson’s Necker Island where they were both holidaying.
