Couture week got off to a glittering start on Sunday night with Donatella Versace’s Atelier Versace show and after party, held a stone’s throw from the Arc de Triomphe.

Guests including Uma Thurman, Emma Roberts, Mena Suvari and Zachary Quinto gathered at a palatial residence that is normally home to the Paris Chamber of Trade and Industry — though the only business on anyone’s mind was choosing among the precious jewels on display.

Sitting in one of the display cases dotting the darkened venue was the diamond necklace with a Medusa head pendant worn by Naomi Campbell to open the show. “It was an honor,” the model said, as she joined Thurman and Versace on a leather banquette in a corner of the room.

Suvari said she had just completed shooting the romantic comedy “A Bet’s a Bet” opposite Geoff Stults. “He’s kind of a wheeler-dealer — kind of a douche bag, basically — and he meets his match,” she said. “He ends up falling for this girl, so there are some kind of play bets involved.”

Thurman said she flew in especially for the show. “I’m concocting something — a little bit of shopping, some culture,” she said — though work was not on the schedule. “I always love to film in Paris whenever I have the chance, but not at the moment.”

For others, the soirée was a brief respite before a working summer.

Roberts said she would be moving to New Orleans shortly to begin work on the television series “American Horror Story,” which also stars Quinto. “I spent last summer there, actually, doing a movie for a month, and had the best time, so I’m excited to get to go back,” she said.
