Ellen DeGeneres Hasn’t Responded To Backlash Due To Crisis Management Rule, Brand Expert Says

Ellen DeGeneres has kept her silence amid the backlash and criticisms she’s been receiving because she is forbidden to “tell an untruth.”

“The Ellen DeGeneres Show” host has been facing a lot of criticisms amid the coronavirus pandemic. Several guests came forward like NikkieTutorials to share their not-so-great experience on the show.

Also, her staff and crew have been complaining about DeGeneres not helping them  amid the lockdown.

Despite the “cold” and “dehumanizing” comments against DeGeneres, the host has remained silent. She never defended herself and celebrity brand expert Eric Schiffer explained the TV presenter’s decision to keep things this way.

“One of the rules of crisis management is, ‘Don’t tell an untruth’ and for her to come out and deny it would be an untruth,” Schiffer told PopCulture.com.

The expert noted that the mean things being said about DeGeneres are not only true according to insiders, they also claim that she has “one of the single biggest egos in Hollywood.”

DeGeneres has portrayed herself as a kind and vibrant personality on TV. Thus, many were shocked when the accusations surfaced.

For Schiffer, what happened was the “worst thing” for DeGeneres. He believes that the pandemic has somehow triggered some to speak up, especially the staff who could barely pay the rent. Furthermore, many have leaked the truth, which might have encouraged others to speak up as well.

Schiffer offered DeGeneres an unsolicited advice if she were thinking of coming out to address the rumors. Here’s what DeGeneres should say in her statement, according to Schiffer.

“I’ve had moments where I wasn’t the best or I didn’t treat people the best, or I’ve had bad days, and I own that. I want to do something about it. I’m really working on it, and I care about my staff, I made a bad mistake in letting people go during this period [and] I’m trying to make that right,” Schiffer suggested.
