SPOILER ALERT: Six years after Elsa and Anna made “Let It Go” an anthem with children and young adults in Frozen, the Arendelle sisters are returning with yet another adventure in Frozen 2. Like the last time, Anna and Elsa have Kristoff, Olaf and Sven in tow as they venture into the Enchanted Forest for a new adventure. While there will be a few new characters joining the awesome five-some, fans have been curious for years now to know if Elsa would come out of the closet in Frozen 2 and have a girlfriend.
Several social media users have been campaigning that Elsa should get a girlfriend in Frozen 2. The campaign, which began in 2013, gained momentum when the first Frozen 2 trailer released. Fans believed the voice Elsa followed was leading to a possible love interest.
However, to break your hearts, Elsa is not getting a girlfriend in the Disney animated movie. Frozen 2’s co-director Jennifer Lee sat down on the round table discussion at Walt Disney Animation Studio in Burbank and revealed that fans will not meet Elsa’s girlfriend in the movie.
“One thing that came out clear was that she wasn’t ready for a relationship at all. She was still getting used to the fact that people were accepting her and she still had so many questions about her powers. The big thing with this film is that this woman is carrying the weight of the kingdom on her shoulders and is wrestling with this extraordinary power. It was this feeling on which she is focusing on and that is a lot,” she said, IANS reported.
