Prince Harry heartbreak: Duke’s beloved military titles may be given to Prince William

One of the things that broke the heart of Prince Harry during Megxit was losing his beloved military titles.

Prince Harry previously revealed how he loved being in the military so much that he served in the army for ten years. He rose to the rank of Captain and even undertaking two tours of Afghanistan.

The Duke of Sussex said that being with the troop made him feel like he was “Just Harry.”

The 36-year-old worked his way from the bottom, then becoming the Captain-General of the Royal Marines, honorary Air Force commandant of the Royal Force Bas Honington, and honorary commodore-in-chief of the Royal Navy’s Small Ships and Diving Operations.

But leaving the British royal family, he was stripped of the titles and left him with nothing but “Prince” and the “Duke of Sussex,” which may not mean anything to him.

What’s heartbreaking is that he may even lose the military titles to his biggest rival.

According to royal expert Marlene Koenig, she believes that Prince Harry knew he would lose his ranks and military assignments.

After all, he’s living in the US now, and the royal family needs someone in the UK to represent and take part in formal, important events when required.

Though there was a rumor that Princess Anne was going to take the titles, Koenig believes it will be Prince William.

“They’re going to put second in line to the throne, which is ceremonial.”

She insisted that it came with a massive price for him.

It’s one of the things he had to sacrifice in exchange for the privacy and independence he and his wife, Meghan Markle, sought.

“You can’t have your cake and eat it too. You chose to leave, and therefore, there are certain things you will no longer have access to.”

When news of him getting stripped of his military titles, Prince Harry, reportedly, felt “demoralized.”

According to their unofficial biography “Finding Freedom,” it was hard for the younger brother of Prince William to accept this part of the deal.

This is because his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II had always been proud of his accomplishments in the military.

Authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand wrote, “If his grandmother’s validation of his experiences served as encouragement, the most demoralizing aspect of the new deal was his being stripped of his honorary military appointments that had been awarded to him as a senior royal.”

Losing the titles was also a “tough pill to swallow” that made the Prince “very emotional,” that even the Duchess of Sussex is also struggling with it.

The former Suits star thinks that the royal family’s move was so “unnecessary.”

As per the authors, she believes that the monarchy didn’t just take something from Prince Harry but the entire military veteran community.”

She, reportedly, said, “You can see how much he means to them, too. So why? The powers are, unfortunately, greater than me.”
