Why Did This Video of Prince Harry Fixing Meghan Markle’s Hair Go Viral?

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have struggled as members royal family, under such intense scrutiny. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex got married in 2018, and since then, the British tabloids have been fiercely critical, mostly of Meghan Markle. 

The toll on the royal couple led to their resignation from the royal scene altogether. However, one video that went viral on Twitter recently shared a different story–a positive one. A story about a young, beautiful couple in love.

On Twitter recently, it was difficult to miss a video of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. In the clip, Harry fixes Meghan’s hair at different events they attend. He’s smoothing it out, adjusting her ponytail, making her she looks her best.

“The most attentive husband,” the caption on the 24-second video read. The first clip is from an event in Morocco in 2019, Huffington Post confirmed. Then, it cuts to Cape Town, also a 2019 visit. Next, we see the royal couple in New Zealand in 2018, and finally, Meghan “launching her cookbook at the Hubb Community Kitchen in September 2018.”

As of publishing time, the video has 29 million views, over 164,000 retweets, and 733,000 likes. Even pop sensation Rihanna threw the video a “like.”

The Huffington Post recently interviewed the Twitter account behind the viral video, a Meghan Markle superfan that goes by the handle @ddarveyy, to investigate why the video was so successful.

Michelle said that Meghan has always been a caring person, even with her own fans, back in the day.

“Back when she had her own personal social media, she would constantly interact with her followers and even had built relationships with a few of them,” Michelle confirmed.

The creator tweets about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when she gets “a sudden spark of creativity, or notice something from their engagements that is consistent.”
