Bora Asku exhibited his trademark fashion piece on London Fashion show in which women sports inspired dresses were the main theme in designers’ collection.

Bora Aksu, the designer has an origin from Turkey; Bora has been based in London for 15 years. The designer set up his fashion label upon graduation from his MA at Central Saint Martins. His signature style is evident in each of his collection which differentiates him from rest of the designers. The signature style is based upon finding the balance point between contrasts. It’s romantic with a darker twist.”

In London fashion week, the designer brings on floor different type of “The Cocktail Dress”, which deem as the trademark pieces. In order to design this collection the designer had to watch short school sports day documentaries from 1902 and 1905! And from he drew characters like Rhoda from 1956 cult movie ‘Bad Seed’.”

The whole theme revolves around two colors, black and white. Diamond, aces, rectangular and square patterns were quite prominent in all the dresses seen on the ramp. Miniskirts, knee length skirts along with short shirts and tops were the main features of his collection. Few of the dresses were available in colors like Peach, yellow, blue and maroon.

When asked about what makes London women wear so exciting? Bora Aksu said, “I think it’s the unpredictable feeling of the women’s wear collections coming from London that makes it very interesting. There is never a safe path, which always makes it exciting.”
