Pre-fall is a very important collection at Reem Acra.It’s her biggest and, because of the delivery schedule, it hits stores at the height of summer bridal. Because of when it’s shown -i.e., now -it’s the most pulled-from in terms of Hollywood awards show season. “Runway has passed in [the stylists’] minds, and this is fresh,” said Acra during a preview.
Keeping in mind her Hollywood and civilian clientele, she focused on high-glamour, dream dresses in a sophisticated color scheme that featured gold sequins scattered over navy tulle and tonal combinations of metallic sequins over shades of nude and blush.
A significant evening trend, red carpet or not, is the bustier. In addition to sleeveless gowns and cocktail dresses with obvious strapless bustier bodices, Acra noted the value of building them into the construction of styles with plunging necklines and even those with long sleeves.
