ZAYN Malik pulled out of the Billboard Music Awards 2017 at the last minute, leaving his fans devastated. The Pillowtalk star had been expected to attend the event with his girlfriend Gigi Hadid after a leaked seating plan revealed the pair would be at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
However as the red carpet started to fill up with music royalty, 24-year-old Zayn pulled the plug on his appearance. In a tweet to his 21 million followers, he told his fans: “Can’t make it to the #BBMAs tonight and know I’ve been away for a bit… “Finishing up these new songs for you. Be back soon.” His devoted fans couldn’t hide their disappointment at his apparently sudden decision not to attend with over 4,000 fans replying in less than half an hour. One tweeted: “Does finishing up new songs mean walking in and out of Gigi’s apartment?” Another wrote: “I only watched because of you but now you’re not coming…”
