Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s candid revelations in a latest documentary seems to have sent royal fans and the family into a tizzy. From addressing the UK media’s treatment to the royal rift with his brother Prince William, Harry and Meghan have stirred quite the pot. The ITV documentary titled ‘Harry & Meghan: An African Journey’ showed the Duchess of Sussex addressing the intense media pressure and how things haven’t been easy for her since she stepped into the shoes of the royal family. Prince Harry, too, also referred to how he sees Africa as a place where they could possibly build a home.
According to a latest report in People, scores of insiders have ruled out that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are eager to escape the wide and intense tabloid scrutiny by the British media and set up ‘second base’ in UK, Canada or Africa. A source said, “It’s not possible for them to be (in the UK) like this. There’s more pressure now. There’s a shift that is happening.”
In fact, in the documentary, Meghan was quizzed about how long she can manage the negative attention, lack of privacy and tabloid rumors. At the time, Meghan said: “I really tried to adopt this British sensibility of a ‘stiff upper lip.’ I really tried, but I think that what that does internally is probably really damaging.”
To take a break from the constant spotlight and scrutiny, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly planning to take a six-week long break for ‘family time’. Harry, Meghan and son Archie will spend their break in both the United Kingdom and the United States. If they do travel to the US, this will be the first time their son Archie Harrison visits his mother’s homeland.
