It is a well-known fact that Meghan Markle — the Duchess of Sussex — was once upon a time famous for her stint as Rachel Zane, the fierce paralegal on Suits. Way before she stepped into the royal household, Meghan was a full-time actress who also joined hands with charities to contribute her bit as and when her acting job allowed. However, much before Meghan landed her big break on Suits, the former actress was a ‘briefcase girl’ on Deal or No Deal. The Duchess was part of the show for one season between 2006 and 2007.
Now, according to latest reports, Meghan’s briefcase which was number 24 will soon be going up for auction. In the show, Meghan would reveal the prize money inside her briefcase whenever a contestant selected her briefcase number. According to The Sun, the original prop from the show is going up for auction in the US, in Hollywood: A Collector’s Ransom Auction.
The report further revealed that Meghan’s briefcase may fetch as much as around £5,000 (approx Rs 4,68, 000) when it goes under the hammer later this month. The Duchess was on the show for only one season before her acting career took off. Speaking about her experience on the show, Meghan had earlier told The Sun, “I would end up standing up there forever in these terribly uncomfortable and inexpensive five-inch heels just waiting for someone to pick my number so I could go and sit down.”
The game show also appeared on Indian televisions in the aughts and different seasons were hosted by Ronit Roy, Rajeev Khandelwal, Mandira Bedi and R Madhavan.
