They will split their time between the UK and North America in the future. And will no longer get any money from the Queen or taxpayers.
So how will they make a living?
1. Meghan’s millions
Meghan Markle is worth a whopping €4.51 million on her own.
So I think they’re pretty well set when it comes to living with the help of the Crown’s funds. She reportedly made a massive $50,000 per episode of Suits. That means her annual salary would be $500,000 and she was in the show for seven episodes.
Of course, that doesn’t mean that she has almost €5 million hanging around. But she definitely won’t be going without…
2. Harry’s army salary
Harry spent 10 years in the armed forces, which means that he still gets money.
He served two tours in Afghanistan as the helicopter pilot in the British Army Air Corps – rising to the rank of captain.
According to Fortune, Harry earns an estimated salary of £33,000 despite not being in the army anymore.
3. Harry’s inheritance
So, they already have a little bit of a nest egg from Harry’s inheritance.
His sizable trust fund was left to him by his mother, Princess Diana.
Her estate included stocks, shares, jewellery, personal belongings, and cash from her £17.5 million (€20.6 million) divorce settlement, split evenly between the two boys.
4. Their trademarks
Could Markle Merch be coming in the future?
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle trademarked over 100 items over the last six months ahead of the split.
The couple trademarked the Sussex Royal brand on items including pencils, socks and bookmarks which could generate millions of euros.
5. Charles money
hile they will be financially independent from the Crown AKA the Queen, daddy’s money won’t be far away.
Prince Charles’ property founded in 1337 by Edward the III, the Duchy of Cornwall estate was created to support the heir apparent AKA Charles.
Its estimated value now tops €1 billion, and it paid out almost £6.6 million (€7.8 million) to Prince Harry and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge last year.
