Princess Beatrice has Officially Cancelled her Royal Wedding

PRINCESS BEATRICE has officially cancelled her royal wedding, according to reports. This is the tragic reason Beatrice and Edoardo have had to call off their big day

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have officially cancelled their royal wedding amid the coronavirus crisis, a spokesman for the couple told PEOPLE. They were due to tie the knot on May 29 but as UK lockdown has been extended by at least another three weeks they have had to call off the event. The royal wedding is the latest in a long list of events to be cancelled as Britain continues to battle coronavirus.

A spokesman for the couple told PEOPLE: “There are no plans to switch venues or hold a bigger wedding.

“They aren’t even thinking about their wedding at this time.

“There will come a time to rearrange, but that’s not yet.”

They added: “The invitations were never actually sent out.”

They were due to marry at the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace in central but their special day has been postponed for the foreseeable future.

The Queen confirmed she would no longer host their wedding reception at Buckingham Palace just before lockdown measures fully came into place last month.

Princess Beatrice is understood to be spending lockdown with Edo at his West London home.

The rest of the York family including Bea’s beloved sister Princess Eugenie, 30, are currently hauled up at Prince Andrew’s home the Royal Lodge.

Princess Beatrice has been keeping a low profile amid the pandemic unlike her younger sister Eugenie.

Eugenie is known to be the more outgoing of the two sisters and has been regularly updating fans on social media in recent weeks.

Unlike Beatrice who doesn’t have a public Instagram account, Eugenie posts regularly on Instagram

She has 1.1 million followers and has made regular posts throughout this difficult time.
