MEGHAN MARKLE and Prince Harry’s royal biographer has dropped a huge update on their book, Finding Freedom which is expected to hit shelves in August.
Meghan Markle, 38, and Prince Harry, 35, are the subject of a highly anticipated book written by Omid Scobie who said he has been working on it for two years.
The royal expert had access to a lot of direct and close insight of the couple, according to royal commentators Rachel Bowie and Roberta Fiorito. They noted the book title relates to the last few months the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have endured since exiting the Royal Family.
Speaking on the Royally Obsessed podcast, Ms Fiorito said: “Update from Omid. He said in his recent podcast he’s been working on the book for two years.
“That’s really interesting because Finding Freedom, that title speaks more to the last few months whereas, the past two years of their lives.
“I think it’s going to cover all that.
“It’s interesting that he’s been working on it for so long.”
Ms Bowie added: “It’s awesome because he really has been in such close quarters with them for so many of these events.
“He truly has unprecedented access.
“Nothing is confirmed about whether he talked to Meghan and Harry but it does seem he has a lot of direct and close insight.”
The book was originally due to be called ‘Thoroughly Modern Royals’ but the hosts discussed other ideas for the title.
Ms Fiorito said: “We wanted to shoutout to a particularly fun thread on Facebook. My low from last week is that I was a little disappointed in the name of Meghan and Harry’s biography, Finding Freedom.
“I didn’t think it was the best title. I actually preferred the original title which was ‘Thoroughly Modern Royals’.
“It seems that Omid Scobie and Caroline had a last-minute switch or changed their minds, who knows.
“I do think this title is very splashy but Cindy in the Royally Obsessed Facebook channel asked the group ‘What would you name the book?’
“Rachel suggested ‘Unbroken’ which got the most likes. Unbroken. I think that would stand out on a bookshelf.”
The couple have made Los Angeles their home and they and other residents of California have been living under a “stay-at-home” order made by the state’s governor Gavin Newsom.
America is where they plan to bring up their son after walking away from the Royal Family in order to become financially independent, after their hopes of earning money while still supporting the Queen were ruled out.
And in another development in their lives, the duchess lost the first High Court skirmish in her claim against the publisher of the Mail on Sunday over publication of a “private and confidential” letter to her estranged father.
