Interesting That Meghan Markle Waited To Address Unrest And Riots

It is curious that Meghan Markle has waited until today to address the widespread unrest happening under her nose, given the fact that as far back as 2012 she was vocal in denouncing racism.

Meghan once denounced racism in America but that was before she married Prince Harry, became a princess, and began her own charitable foundation, Archewell.

Today she finally spoke, not on her own but under the umbrella of The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust to address the protests taking place in the US.

Two tweets were issued today by the trust, one which read, “Young people are vital voices in the fight against injustice and racism around the world. As a global community of young leaders, we stand together in pursuit of fairness and a better way forward. Silence is not an option. #BlackLivesMatter The post was signed “Team QCT” without Meghan’s name even mentioned.

Why Isn’t Meghan Markle Taking A Stronger Stand Against Racism In America?

Given her vocal denunciation of global inequality, one wonders why it took until today for her to address the Black Lives Matter movement, and even then, not in a personal manner but through a Trust that consists of several members, not just her.

She was much more vocal, and spent much more time on the matter, in a 2012 video in which she talks about her experience with racism, says her mom was called the N-word, and she shares her dream of raising kids in a more “open” world.

Maybe she’s just too busy looking for work these days, but it seems that the riots and protests taking place in the city she fought so hard to return to and be free it would be an irresistible opportunity for her to spread her message of hope and love for all.

Meghan Has Finally Said Something About The Current Situation In The US

Meghan appeared in a video for Erase the Hate’s, “I Won’t Stand For…” campaign in 2012. In light of the protests and rioting taking place in response to George Floyd’s death, the video has resurfaced online and gone viral.

In the video Meghan made eight years ago she claimed that most people do not see her, “as a black woman or a biracial woman, and she is treated differently because of that.”

She also stated that she hopes her future children are born into a world more “open-minded.” If she wants her chance to change the world, this would seem like the perfect moment, based on her past comments.

When discussing racism in the video Meghan said, “For me, I think it hits a really personal note.” Maybe she’ll do more about the current racial inequality situation now that she’s been reminded of how strongly she felt about racism and inequality eight years ago? Or has her own world radically changed and that’s good enough for her?
