Simon Morgan, the ex-royal employee, said that getting privacy in the bustling city in the United States will be up to how Prince Harry and Markle engage with people. He told Us Weekly that it will also depend on “how much access they allow.”
“The more you withdraw, the more people want to know what you’re up to. There just becomes that fascination,” Morgan explained.
Morgan pointed out that the Duke of Sussex is still a member of the British royal family, and though he’s “not entitled at the moment,” Prince Harry still gets a lot of attention. His wife, Markle, meanwhile, also attracts people’s fascination.
“If she does go back to work in that particular sector, then there will always be an interest in what she’s doing because it would be part and parcel of the very nature of what she’s doing,” the former royal protection officer said.
The responsibility, therefore, lies in the hands of those protecting them, Morgan added, so that they may lead the lifestyle they chose without their security being compromised. With this being said, the former royal employee did wonder about Prince Harry and Markle’s decision to head out of the U.K. and move to the U.S.
Morgan said he believes that Prince Harry and Markle were already in a very secure environment in the U.K. As such, moving to Los Angeles “kind of puts you very much in the spotlight.”
Morgan added that Prince Harry and Markle’s new life in Los Angeles would need round-the-clock protection. “So I think, yeah — from a protection perspective, you know, it’s not an ideal choice,” he added.
Speaking of protection, the Sussexes have been reported to have hired a security team that costs more than $8,000 a day. This group has reportedly served A-listers like Jeff Bezos, Madonna, and Cher. This came after reports surfaced that drones were flying by their Los Angeles residence, which belongs to TV mogul Tyler Perry.
