Caitlyn Jenner Wondered If Bruce ‘Deserved To Be Thrown Away’

Years ago, Caitlyn Jenner underwent a transition that brought her kids, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, even closer to him. However, she had doubts at the time, wondering if she really had to throw “Bruce Jenner” away.

As part of pride month, Jenner recalled the moment she decided to push through with the process. She explained that had any of her kids had any problem with her transition, she would not have done it. The journey wasn’t smooth-sailing because she had doubts, People reported.

Caitlyn remembered the moment she got her driver’s license in 2015, which was emotional for her. Imprinted on the ID was “Caitlyn Marie Jenner,” and looking at that card made her feel uncertain about the big step she took. “But then, I wondered, did Bruce deserve to be thrown away like this? He did a lot of good things. He raised 10 kids. But I wasn’t turning around,” Caitlyn recalled.

It was a good thing that Caitlyn didn’t back out of it, especially since Kendall and Kylie, her children with momager Kris Jenner, believe that their father’s coming out only strengthened the bond they shared.

“When my dad came out as transgender, our relationship grew. She could finally be honest with me. We could talk about deep emotions she was feeling through that time. Growing up my dad was not usually one to talk about her feelings so that was a big step for us,” the model said.

However, what served as a confidence booster for Kendall was Caitlyn coming out years ago, a transition that was detailed in a very telling Vanity Fair story. Seeing her father be brave made one of the highest-paid models love what she used to be ashamed of.

Kylie has also always seen her father as an inspiration, but the most inspiring moment for her was when Caitlyn came out. In fact, the sisters called their father their hero. “[W]atching her live out her true self has been the most inspiring of them all,” the makeup mogul said.
