The Duchess of Cambridge has been spotted wearing expensive jewelry in the past. According to Express, Middleton was spotted wearing a set from the Prince of Wales. The publication was referring to the three-piece white and gold jewelry set from Prince William’s dad. The set included a ring, a bracelet, and a pair of drop earrings that she has worn on several occasions.
The set reportedly cost over $75,000. Prince Charles gifted it to Middleton after her royal wedding to the second in line to the throne to officially welcome the duchess to the family. “They are in an Art Deco style and seem to be custom made for Kate,” said Anna Byers, head of bespoke at 77 Diamonds.
“The earrings feature two round diamond clusters almost in a flower shape, with the central diamond having a yellow hue, bridged by three horizontal baguette diamonds set in white gold,” Byers said describing the earrings. Meanwhile, the bracelet features a repeating diamond cluster and baguette pattern bordered by two rows of diamonds, with the central diamond again with a yellow hue. The ring has a double diamond cluster, too.
Middleton has been spotted wearing those jewelry pieces at special events. For instance, the Duchess of Cambridge wore the set at her first solo event as a member of the royal family. “Notably and rather appropriately, Kate wore these in October 2011 when she stood in for her father-in-law Prince Charles which was her first solo event,” Byers continued. The expert estimated that the earrings alone could cost between $19,000 to $56,000.
