British retailer company MARKS & SPENCER is celebrating its 125th birthday the coming month. The celebration also brings along the launch of a new womenswear range enthused by the brand’s legacy and exceptional archive.
Crossing 125 years of excellence in the fashion industry, the new collection comprises of prints, styles and details from classic M&S designs taking the 40’s and 70’s theme and will also include accessories, swimwear and lingerie.
Director of M&S clothing Kate Bostock says that it is a moment of great excitement as Marks and Spencer has given away 125 devoted to the industry and are very excited about the 125th year collection. He further stated that they are hopeful that the customers will experience the nostalgic themes we have interpreted, while remaining true towards the company’s core values of quality, value, service, innovation and trust – which are as relevant today as they were in 1884, the year the brand was launched.
Founded by Michael Marks, the brand took off from a smaller level in Leeds at the city’s Kirkgate market. The first Womenswear was launched in the 20’s, following another one in 1926.
Modish celebrations will continue till the month of June when the brand introduces its Dress of the Decade range under its Limited collection line. It will feature five iconic dresses also inspired by 40’s all the way to 80’s Eighties.
The M&S 125th commemorative collection will be available in stores and online by the end of May.
