New Idea published the misleading headline about Angelina Jolie this week, suggesting that Pitt won the custody battle.
But upon closer inspection, the tabloid is simply rehashing the court’s decision to not remove Judge John W. Ouderkirk from the A-listers’ case.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Jolie’s request was denied about the court found out that there’s no conflict of interest in the case.
Weeks ago, the Maleficent star claimed that the judge failed to disclose his relationships and connections with Pitt’s legal team.
However, the Ad Astra actor’s legal counsel fired back by saying that Jolie also knew Ouderkirk on a personal level because he’s the one that officiated their wedding in 2014.
Despite the tabloid’s claim that Jolie’s custody bid was denied, their article mentioned that Pitt is inching closer to winning shared custody of his five minor children.
The conflicting claims prove that the tabloid was just making up stories to attract readers.
Ouderkirk still hasn’t made a decision regarding Pitt and Jolie’s custody battle. And the exes’ court hearing has once again been delayed after the mom of six parted ways with her lawyer, Priya Sopori.
Last month, a source told Daily Mail that Jolie won’t back down in her fight to have sole custody of her children.
“Angelina has fought tooth and nail to get what she wants in this divorce. When it comes to her kids she won’t back down. She’s paying her legal team a fortune, so if she believes one of her lawyers needs to go she won’t hesitate to pull the trigger,” the source said.
Following the reports, divorce lawyer Raoul Felder of Stutman Stutman Lichtenstein & Felder said that Sopori parting ways with Jolie is good news for Pitt.
“It tells me if I were Mr. Pitt I’d be very happy based on these court documents because there are not many things worse than this that could happen. It’s basically saying that something bad is happening in the petitioners’ case. Either she is simply not following the lawyer’s advice or there is some reason the lawyer just wants to get off the case,” he told Hollywood Life.
