‘It would be horrible PR’ if Lori Loughlin got COVID-19, report says

Lori Loughlin has been worried about contracting the novel coronavirus while in prison. And a new report suggests her team is worried about how getting COVID-19 could impact her standing among the press.

Loughlin was sentenced to prison due to the college admissions scandal, in which she pleaded guilty for paying bribes so her daughters could be students at the University of Southern California.

What’s going on?

An unnamed source recently told Us Weekly magazine that Loughlin has embraced her celebrity status while in prison since the prison has increased COVID-19 precautions.

“The other women are happy Lori is there because officials are taking COVID-19 seriously,” the source said, adding, “It would be horrible PR if Lori got COVID-19 and got really sick.”

Loughlin reportedly “hangs out with a group and keeps to herself,” the source added.

Loughlin has been “scared” of catching the coronavirus in prison since she knew when she was going to be sentenced, as I wrote about for the Deseret News.

She has been “scared to death of catching COVID-19, as the virus is ravaging the federal prisons in California,” an unnamed source told Us Weekly magazine.
The inside source told Us Weekly: “She’s met with the official who’s preparing her sentencing report, which the judge will use for guidance as to how long she’ll serve.”

A word on prisons and COVID

The New York Times reports that prisons have been a hotbed of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic. Federal officials suggested giving correctional facility staff members a priority for the COVID-19 vaccine — but not necessarily the inmates.
