When is Meghan Markle’s due date? How far along is Duchess of Sussex in pregnancy?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting their second child together. The Sussexes confirmed the news this afternoon, but it’s still unclear exactly when Archie’s younger sibling will arrive.

“We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child,” a spokesperson for the couple said in a statement. An expected due date was not mentioned.

The happy announcement comes just a few months after Meghan’s emotional essay in the New York Times in which she revealed that she had suffered from a miscarriage in July of 2020.

“Losing a child means carrying an almost unbearable grief, experienced by many but talked about by few. In the pain of our loss, my husband and I discovered that in a room of 100 women, 10 to 20 of them will have suffered from miscarriage. Yet despite the staggering commonality of this pain, the conversation remains taboo, riddled with (unwarranted) shame, and perpetuating a cycle of solitary mourning,” she wrote.

“Some have bravely shared their stories; they have opened the door, knowing that when one person speaks truth, it gives license for all of us to do the same.”

Over the years, Meghan and Harry have been very open in the press about their desire to have a family together. In an interview with the BBC shortly after the couple announced their engagement, Harry shared they wanted to have children. “Not yet, no, but I think eventually, one step at a time, and we’ll start a family in the near future,” he said.

And in July of 2019, after the birth of his first son, baby Archie, Harry shared that he and Meghan wanted two children “maximum!” during a conversation with conservationist Jane Goodall for Vogue‘s British edition.
