According to the details, Paul Burrell claimed the Queen would remain at her Windsor Castle residence for “the rest of her life” as he believed Buckingham Palace was too busy and lacked the charm of the more rural home.
The former butler also claimed the Queen was enjoying walks in Windsor which she would be unable to do in London and enjoyed the company she had at the castle.
However, the Queen has not yet made a public appearance since the death of Prince Philip but some commentators predict she may make a statement in the next few days.
Burrell gave this statement while speaking to an Australian breakfast show Sunrise when he was quizzed on his prediction regarding the Queen. In response, he replied: “I do [believe that] because Buckingham Palace is the office, is the London headquarters of the royal family but the Queen’s home now is now Windsor Castle.
“And I think it’s easy for her to stay there she’s just had two new Corgi puppies which take her outside. She said the beauty of dogs is they take you out, they take you out in the fresh air they make you exercise and you meet people,” he added.
He went on by saying: “It’s no good her staying inside those four walls and just living her life out like that because she likes to be with people and as soon as this lockdown ends I think she will get out there again and start to meet people. But make no mistake because she will die queen, she will never ever retire and give up their responsibility. Not now, not ever.”
Prince Philip died on April 9, 2021 aged 99 with his funeral to be held this weekend.
