Savannah Guthrie’s Shocking Health Update–What Does This Mean For ‘Today’??

Savannah Guthrie, the Today co-host is absent from the show. She shared her picture on Instagram with a bandaged eye and explained her surgery. As per resources, it is her third eye surgery, expected to be last.

In November 2019, her son hit a toy train on her face that affected her eye. Then in July 2020, she had a contract surgery and she posted on her Instagram, “Seeing all the colors a little brighter today… I’m so grateful my surgery was a success! I’m still healing but already noticing a major improvement in my vision.”

“So much gratitude to my gifted surgeon @abrissettemd and her amazing team! See you later this week on TODAY! And when I say ‘see you’ – I really mean it,” Guthrie added.

It was a follow-up operation and she said it is “last teeny tiny eye surgery.”

She explained, in July 2020, “Remember when my retina was detached because Charley threw the train at my eye? Well, guys it’s not over. So apparently after you have that retina reattachment surgery, it’s very common to get cataracts, so that happened to me,” she explained. “So I’m actually going to leave in 20 minutes and have cataract surgery.”

“Lots of people have had cataract surgery or their parents have had cataract surgery … It’s very common in the elderly, but it happens if you have this retina detachment surgery. Once they remove that blur, I think it will be a lot better,” Guthrie added.

Fans send well-wishes for her speedy recovery.
