Angelina Jolie shares how Divorce from Brad Pitt Affected her Career

Angelina Jolie got candid on how her divorce from Brad Pitt impacted her career goals after it left her as a single mom.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt announced their split in September 2016. Almost five years later, the exes are still working on finalizing their divorce and custody battle. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jolie shared how their family drama affected her career.

Angelina Jolie has stopped directing

Angelina Jolie spoke with EW on Tuesday, where she opened up about her family and career. The Maleficent star admitted that after her split from Brad Pitt, she has stopped directing. In addition, she has to choose projects that do not take too long because she has to be with the kids.

“I love directing, but I had a change in my family situation that’s not made it possible for me to direct for a few years,” Jolie told EW.

“I needed to just do shorter jobs and be home more, so I kind of went back to doing a few acting jobs. That’s really the truth of it,” she added.

Angelina and Brad prioritizes the kids

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt share six children together Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox. Their custody is still ongoing, but both have been upfront that they want what’s best for their children.

A source told E! News that all the kids are at Jolie’s home. However, they have continued seeing their dad, Pitt. He goes over for regular visits.

The kids are keeping themselves busy with schoolwork, practicing new languages, playing instruments and board games, and helping cook dinner. The set-up doesn’t take too much of an adjustment for them because they are used to doing their schoolwork at home, the insider added.

Exes already spent millions in divorce

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s legal battle has already cost them millions. L.A. divorce attorney Kelly Chang Rickert shared her thoughts about the exes divorce.

According to her, it could become of the most expensive divorce cases in Hollywood history in terms of legal fees. Their divorce has been ongoing for nearly five years, and she’s convinced that each of them has already spent over $1 million for employing reputable attorneys. For her part, the Salt star has gone through several legal counsels.

Also, they have hired a private judge who probably bills them around $900 to $1000 an hour. The private lawyer alone costs about $10,000 a day. In addition, Rickert estimated that they had paid the judge close to half a million dollars between them.
