On a visit to the Mini car factory in Oxford, Prince Charles said the birth of his fifth grandchild Lilibet was “such happy news”.
The Prince of Wales added how the electric car he was driving “really does remind one of the necessity of continued innovation in this area” before explaining how the development of electric cars was “in view of the legacy we bequeath to our grandchildren” in a touching tribute to new baby Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor who was born on June 4th.

Prince Charles said: “The development of technology like electric vehicles…
“Is vital for maintaining the health of our world for future generations…
“Something I am only too aware of today, having recently become a grandfather for the fifth time.
“Such happy news really does remind one of the necessity of continued innovation in this area.
“Especially around sustainable battery technology.”In view of the legacy, we bequeath to our grandchildren.”
Prince Charles’s touching tribute comes as other Royal Family members shared their delight at Meghan and Harry’s new baby.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wrote on Twitter: “We are all delighted by the happy news of the arrival of baby Lili. Congratulations to Harry, Meghan, and Archie.”
While commentators from around the world have also been quick to praise the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for their baby girl’s name.
Linda Robson from Loose Women, said: “I think it’s lovely, so good luck to her!”
And an insider also told Us Weekly: “They are already back home in Montecito with their baby girl!
“Archie absolutely adores his little sister and gives her lots of kisses.
“He’s held her with the help of his parents.”
Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on 4th June 2021 to Meghan and Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Lili is the second baby of the pair and will be the younger sister to older brother Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
Archie, 2, was born on May 6, 2019 in London’s The Portland Hospital.
