According to sources, Bündchen hired Tom Sasser, managing partner of the law firm Sasser, Cestero & Roy.
The West Palm Beach divorce lawyer has represented a number of high-profile clients, including Tiger Woods during his divorce from Elin Nordegren.
Sasser also represented Jeff Gordon in his contentious divorce from his wife Brooke in 2003, which turned into a battle over the NASCAR driver’s net worth but was eventually settled.
A source said, “Things are very nasty between Tom and Gisele because of the lawyers. They are ready for a fight.”
“Tom and Gisele are not battling over the kids, they both want joint custody. But it will take some time to divide their immense wealth and property all over the world,” the source added.
Bündchen, 42, and Brady, 45, have two children together: son Benjamin, 12, and daughter Vivian, 9, as well as Brady’s son Jack, 15, with ex Bridget Moynahan.
As previously reported, Brady and Bündchen have been living apart for the past few months following an epic fight and are now considering dividing their multimillion-dollar empire.
“I don’t think there will be any coming back now. They both have lawyers and are looking at what a split will entail, who gets what and what the finances will be,” said a source.
Bündchen and Brady’s 13-year marriage ended in separation when the NFL star decided to return to football.
We reported in September that the couple had an “epic” fight over his refusal to retire despite announcing his retirement in February.
“There’s been trouble in the marriage over his decision to un-retire. Gisele has always been the one with the kids,” an insider told us at the time. “They had agreed he would retire to focus on the family, then he changed his mind.” The lawyers of Brady and Bündchen didn’t get back to us.
