Stella McCartney was the big winner at the 2012 British Fashion Awards tonight, taking home both Designer Brand and Designer of the Year – the latter of which was presented by Hollywood actress Salma Hayek.
The Red Carpet Award went to Roksanda Ilincic, who counts the Duchess of Cambridge, Michelle Obama and Lady Gaga as fans; the New Establishment prize to Erdem; and Best Menswear Designer to Louis Vuitton‘s menswear creative director Kim Jones.
Cara Delevingne was named Britain’s Model of the Year, while Alexa Chung was given the British Style accolade for the third year in a row. Harold Tillman – who steps down from his role as British Fashion Council chairman in January – received the Special Recognition honour.
