Adam Levine, frontman for the band Maroon 5, coach of The Voice, star of the upcoming movie Begin Again, declared the “Sexiest Man Alive” by the readers of People magazine, has gone blond. Levine, 35, is always up for a change, and is happy with his new platinum blond hairstyle, even if some of his fans hate it. He and his fiancee, Behati Prinsloo, likes it, so that’s all that matters, right?
Just last month, how time flies, Adam Levine rocked a half-shaved haircut look in Los Angeles at The Voice Season Six private concert. According to Shaul Arbiv, Levine’s hairstylist and the owner of Shampoo On 3rd Salon in L.A, has said that Adam “likes to change up his style often,” and they both “wanted to do something totally drastic and different from his previous styles,” so that’s why they decided to bleach his hair and go with the platinum blond look. Is Adam Levine still the “Sexiest Man Alive” even with blond hair?
Adam Levine has been previously known for sporting jet-black hair, along with his many tattoos. It was his overall look that got him named by the readers of People magazine as the “sexiest man alive.” So, why should he mess with a good thing, especially if it got him even more legions of fans than he already had, by going blond? Sexiest Man Alive Adam Levine Goes Blond.
Adam Levine has never been one to be complacent, when it comes to either his music or his personal style. Branding will only get a person so far, and sometimes, having the guts to go against how you’re being portrayed and branded by the media is even a better tactic. Just as Kelly Osbourne is a trend-setter for women and is no stranger to some wild hairstyles, Adam Levine is a trend-setter for younger males. But, did changing his hair color make him less sexy in the eyes of his fans?
Not all of Adam Levine’s fans are in love with his new platinum blond hair color and hairstyle. Adam realizes that not everyone likes his new look, but he doesn’t seem to care, responding that “when they say my hair looks creepy I take that as the highest compliment.” He even seems to equate his new hair color and hairstyle with getting prepared for some sort of upcoming Apocalypse, captioning a selfie depicting his blond look with the words “Apocalypse prep course complete.”
Was Adam Levine just being glib, or was he referencing that his new hair color was for a role in an upcoming movie about a dystopian future in a post-apocalyptic world? Did he change his hair color, as his hair stylist, Shaul Arbiv, suggests, mainly to have a new look for the summer; or, is there something more behind why he decided to go blond?
If you’re a fan of Adam Levine, be sure to check out his acting job in the upcoming movie, Begin Again, where he co-stars opposite actress Keira Knightley, as her ex-boyfriend. Of course, you can also check out Adam Levine every week on The Voice, at least until the end of season six, a couple of weeks or so off. Be sure to leave your comments below and let the world know if you think going blond has made Adam Levine less sexy, or if it hasn’t done a thing to drop him out of the number one spot as being the “Sexiest Man Alive!”
