Remember when Kim Kardashian tried to ‘break the internet’ last winter with her naked photo shoot for Paper Magazine?
Despite her best efforts, the Internet survived. But, today Kardashian did manage to temporarily break the Apple app store.
Earlier today, Kardashian launched her new app, Kimoji, which are – you guessed it – Kim themed emojiis. The demand for her app was out of control. At one point today, there were allegedly 9,000 downloads per millisecond. The Apple app store couldn’t keep up with the traffic and it began crashing.
According to TMZ, Apple’s tech team had to actively work to ensure the store stayed afloat.
The app costs $1.99 to download and requires iOS 8.0 or later. Kimoji can be used on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, though fans were displeased to learn it does not currently work on Instagram or Twitter.
If you download Kimoji you’ll have access to over 250 Kim Kardashian related emojiis and stickers. From Kardashian’s butt to peaches and cream, from her mid-contoured face to her pregnant profile, it’s all there. The app currently works on iMessage, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and email.
