The fashion industry is aware of the fact that the most celebrated amongst various renowned international fashion weeks, are the one’s sponsored by Mercedes-Benz. In New York, the famous and iconic tents at Lincoln Center are raised up two times in a year and within Miami, it happens during late July once a year elevating the white tents for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim at The Raleigh Hotel. Against the milieu of a historic and traditional hotel and those traditional white tents, models promenade down a runway showcasing the newest fashion trends and swimsuit styles for the next year.
Miami, a place with summer all year around, is usually the ideal choice for the swimsuit industry’s largest affair of the year. All the major brands come forth to display their creations and young up-and-coming designers contend for a mark to get their pieces recognized amongst the fashion elite. An estimate of about fifty designers displays their latest and supreme collection in the Mercedes-Benz tents alone. Across the city dozens of designers participate in amazing events that are organized by independent organizations.
This year Mercedes Benz and the organizers celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Miami Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, with a start up of a new look and a whole new collection showcased by different designers at the Raleigh Hotel. Like any fashion occasion, it is all about the parties and sponsorships, the red carpet and the street style apart from the main event of course. Miami Beach’s club, venues and hip dinning are packed with a stunning bunch of models, editors, photographers, writers and designers.
When you’re at Miami hot is literally what you’ll get. While most fashion shows feature glamorous collections of clothing filled with flares and dresses, this is most likely the fashion event of the year with the least amount of clothes.
At The Raleigh the sight is a grand one for the international fashion community: the curtains are open, the champagne is flowing, and well-dressed high fashion critics sit and talk about the latest industry gossip, photographers are ever busy taking pictures of the very best dressed. The Raleigh is gorgeously decorated with its deco pool, the Cabana and alluring center pieces.
Designers with major fan followings like Liliana Montoya Swim, A.Z Araujo, Dolores Cortes, Mara Hoffman swim and more ascend the show to display their collection to enlighten the world as to what the swim scene will look like for the next year.
Luckily, The Raleigh offers a restaurant that serves the best dishes in Miami for the audience to taste. Even with dozens of models strutting about in bikinis, everyone can work up an appetite. The entry into the extravagant show is only by invitation. This event is one of the most looked forward to for the fashion press.
