Yep, New York Fashion Week has arrived and the first day of shows did not, we repeat, did not disappoint. For the fall-winter 2015 season, designers are making waves with luxe leather and fur accents, bright pops of orange and myriad metallics, and these are just a few of the trends we’ve spotted in the last, oh, twelve hours.
We’ve got our eye out for other fashion week staples, of course: Street style stars, standout runway looks and celebs sitting pretty in front row. But really, the shows are the main event—so each day we’ll be bringing you the best from Lincoln Center.
The BCBG presentation gave us all sorts of woven coat envy, and put orange accents on our radar as a major trend for fall. The shoe-game was impressive too: We’re talking furry booties and sexy knee-high leather.
Honor’s showing was a testament to fall’s richest hues, including a bright blood-orange, plummy voilet and cobalt blue. This collection also gave us hope for the return of our favorite 90s accessory: The ultra-wide headband.
Graphic monochrome prints? Check. Leopard coats? Double check. No-holds-barred gold boots? Well, you know. Lisa Perry’s fall collection had just enough whimsy (and touches of tangerine) to keep us on our toes.
Nicholas Kunz’s aviator-meets-motorcycle babe runway motif has given us ample inspiration for looking cold weather chic. His latest collection features fur trim, sexy leather looks and a new spin on classic cargo pants.
