If you’re a serious over-packer, you might need to sort through your clothes.

If you’re a serious over-packer, you might need to sort through your clothes and repack your suitcase over and over again to keep things neat. Regardless of your trip length or destination, keep on reading for our tips to travel light this winter.

Versatility is the name of the packing game.

Consider the versatility of everything you pack.  If a dress can be worn with button down shirt during the day and dressed up with a blazer at night, it’s coming along. Two completely different outfits, no one would know you’re wearing the same thing twice. Like fashion blogger Blair Eadie, you may even think of an all-black outfit just like a duffel coat, black top, and skinny jeans that you can wear with other black pieces and look fresh.

Always think about layering.

Layered outfits are casual enough to walk around downtown and cool for dinners out. While basics tees are perfect for vacation, you may also go for striped sweaters that you can wear with your favorite jeans, overalls, and even coats. Cool night strolls and early morning sunrises call for a jean jacket and breezy wrap scarf. Like fashion blogger Blair Eadie, think of wearing a crop sweater with a button down shirt and leather pants. However, the last thing to consider is your outfit for the plane. Always wear layers so you can easily transition from cool temperatures to warmer or cooler ones. Remember, less in your suitcase means less stuff to lug around.

Mix and match when it comes to separates.

Like fashion blogger Blair Eadie, think of wearing a chic puffer coat with your full skirt and over the knee boots that look chic at the same time functional while doubling up as your topper. Or, think of an all black outfit that can be spiced up with a printed blanket scarf that will keep you warm. If you wish to pack a pair of overalls or jumpsuit, keep it in the neutral shade so you can wear them with various tops without looking monotonous on your vacation style.

Choose neutral footwear.

Always bring neutral footwear that can be worn with everything in my suitcase. However, avoid bringing a pair of shoes that you’ll only wear one time. Try to bringing lightweight shoes like sneakers that take up less room in your suitcase. If you wish to wear a pair of over the knee boots, wear them with your travel outfits so you don’t have to pack them in your suitcase. Like fashion blogger Blair Eadie, opt for a neutral pair of boots like a suede pair that will go well with anything. Pack light this winter season, so you’ll enjoy your adventure while keeping you warm on your travel.
