You’re on the top of the world,” remarked George Clooney during his acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

“So you’re on your way in and you’re at the red carpet and you’re a nominee, everybody is congratulating you.  I mean you’re on the top of the world,” remarked George Clooney during his acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

“And then within a couple of hours, four of the five of you don’t win… And then you are a loser.  And I’m telling you, you go to the after-party and nobody will look you in the eyes.” Clooney’s words may have rung true in years past, but everyone was indulging in the revelry at the Weinstein Company and Netflix after-party (sponsored by FIJI Water, Laura Mercier, and Lexus), a requisite stop on this year’s post award show circuit.

Siblings Jake Gyllenhaal and Maggie Gyllenhaal stuck close to one another in the massive tented soirée and Benedict Cumberbatch, Sophie Hunter, Salma Hayek Pinault, Billy Bob Thornton, Ruth Wilson, Jennifer Aniston, Justin Theroux, Channing Tatum, and Jenna Dewan Tatum were out mingling in the crowd.

Two of the evening’s big winners, Michael Keaton and Wes Anderson, for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Comedy for Birdman and Best Motion Picture Comedy for The Grand Budapest Hotel respectively, embraced, while Ellen von Unwerth made waves on the dance floor in a metallic gold blazer. Bar Refaeli, Cressida Bonas, and Chanel Iman chatted nearby Harvey Weinstein’s table, where Jennifer Lopez sat close with Georgina Chapman, Cara Delevingne, Ryan Guzman, and Rita Ora. Will Arnett, 50 Cent, and Ricky Gervais stood together beneath a large palm tree as James Corden, Sally Hawkins, and Naomi Campbell arrived on the later side, just in time for the trays of Fatburger being passed around the room.
