Enter one room of Chanel’s Mademoiselle Prive Exhibition, housed at London’s Saatchi Gallery, and you’ll find a hall of mannequins dressed in the gowns and jewels worn by the fashion house’s band of star gamblers during its casino-themed couture show, while the walls are decorated with black-and-white portraits of the women themselves. Last night, many of these women stepped out to support Karl Lagerfeld at the opening – from long-term muses like Vanessa Paradis, to the new generation of Chanel girls, including Lily-Rose Depp and Lily Collins. They rubbed shoulders with a host of ambassadors and friends of the brand, who browsed the exhibition before retreating to a cocktail party hosted upstairs.
