More than just a showcase for the best in Danish design, Copenhagen Fashion Week’s runways also serve to highlight the rising stars of Denmark’s modeling scene. Brand-new faces and models fresh from high-profile exclusives make their presence felt throughout the week and often head straight from Copenhagen to the catwalks of Milan and Paris. Get to know five of most exciting faces to walk this season.
Lululeika Ravn Liep
Already a regular on Nicolas Ghesquière’s Louis Vuitton runway—where she’s walked as an exclusive for two seasons—Lululeika Ravn Liep spent Copenhagen Fashion Week working with her hometown designers. With fashion month only a few weeks away, it will be exciting to see where Ravn Liep appears next.
Anoucka Uwimvwe
Among the finalists in last year’s Elite Model Look Denmark, Anoucka Uwimvwe has been working with Denmark’s best designers, including Henrik Vibskov and Saks Potts. Her elegant features and regal presence on the catwalk make her one to watch for the coming season.
Ina Maribo Jensen
Redhead Ina Maribo Jensen has already captivated casting director Ashley Brokaw with her elegant look: Before setting foot on her hometown’s runways, the Dane walked Prada’s menswear show as an exclusive. With appearances at multiple shows during Copenhagen Fashion Week, the newcomer was one of the week’s recurring faces.
Sabrina due Grandt
Sabrina due Grandt’s long bangs and dimpled smile have garnered her comparisons to fellow Danish beauty Freja Beha Erichsen, but the newcomer is far from a clone. On the runway for Baum und Pferdgarten, Due Grandt displayed her version of offbeat cool.
Sara Kusic
Sara Kusic’s arresting features made her an unmistakable presence on the runways of Copenhagen. Her high cheekbones and strong jaw have already landed her in the pages of CR Fashion Book and in A.P.C.’s Fall lookbook. With her impressive showing during Copenhagen—including at Baum und Pferdgarten and By Malene Birger—Kusic seems destined to make her mark internationally come September.
