The catwalk queen displayed her Amazonian body in a barely-there floral ensemble before joining the legendary designer for a final walk to sound of deafening applause. In a recent interview, Naomi commented on the rise of models getting ahead through social media.
She told The Meredith Viera Show: ‘I just feel my generation of women, like Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Claudia [Schiffer], we had to earn our stripes and take our stepping stones to get to where we have gotten; to accomplish what we have achieved to this date.’
‘I kind of feel like, “My God, we’ve worked so hard and we are still working at it – then it just comes like that for them.”
She added: ‘I am actually grateful for the way I had my career. I wouldn’t want it any other way. So that’s for them, this is me.’
Naomi is now using her global fame and fashion contacts to put on a Fashion For Relief show to open London Fashion Week. This event follows on from the pop-up shop she opened in Westfield to raise money in aid of the fight against Ebola.
Campbell and her friends will be hitting the catwalk wearing pieces donated from the world’s most prestigious fashion houses across the world including Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, Azzedine Alaia, Vivienne Westwood, Stella McCartney, Balmain, Marchesa, Versace and more.
