Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle were both commoners before they married Prine William and Prince Harry, respectively. When the Duchess of Sussex was still a working royal, she had been pitted against the Duchess of Cambridge.

Molly Mulshine, a millennial herself, believes that the two duchesses could step up to make the monarchy popular among the younger audience.
“When it comes to royalty, I’m in it for the fashion (and the gossip — let no one pretend they’re above the gossip),” she told Express.
For her, the female royal could showcase their style and fashion to make the royals more distinguished. At present, Lady Louise is not on people’s radar.
However, the public is interested in Lady Amelia Windsor and Princess Diana’s nieces. So, the royals should include them and “embrace the shot of glamour” they would bring.
She stressed that everyone doesn’t need to be a direct descendant of the Queen to be fashionable. Markle and Middleton are both stylish and very popular for their fashion.
At present, there seems to be a divide between the Cambridges and the Sussexes. Mulshine acknowledged that Prince William and Middleton might have issues with the young people due to the perceived feud between them and Prince Harry and Markle.
