An updated version of an unauthorized biography of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle claims the couple has no regrets about stepping away from the Royal Family. The split with the Palace occurred last year when the Sussexes jetted off to California for a new life, which has involved multi-million dollar deals with Netflix and Spotify and an £11 million mansion.
The pair have also made a number of public appearances voicing their criticisms of the Palace. Meghan said that she was suicidal at times in their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, and claimed there were “concerns” over the color of son Archie’s skin from an unnamed royal.

Meanwhile, Harry was critical of his father Charles’ parenting on the Armchair Expert podcast and claimed both Charles and brother William were “trapped” in their roles.
Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand’s updated biography Finding Freedom now sheds new light on the falling out.
A new extract from the book reads: “As difficult as recent years have been, sources close to the Sussexes say that neither Harry nor Meghan have any regrets about the decisions they have made.
“What started as a fairy tale romance became a story that reinvented the genre – a self-made, independent woman playing an equal role alongside her knight.”

The book is being re-released on August 31 with a new epilogue, in which friends of the Sussexes also claim that the pair think the Royal Family haven’t taken “full ownership” of the issues they have raised.
The book’s publisher Harper Collins has said the book will include “behind the scenes of Harry and Meghan’s ground-breaking interview with Oprah, details behind the couple’s move to California (and) the various philanthropic and business endeavors the Sussexes have been involved with.”
The updated version also claims that Harry hoped the family could come together during his visit to the UK for Prince Philip’s funeral.
An extract reads: “There was a feeling that this trip might also present an opportunity to come together and talk without the filter of staff as go-betweens, a number of whom the Sussexes had come to discover were behind many of the media leaks they dealt with as working royals.”

The Sussexes were not involved in the book, but its authors say people close to the couple were. Scobie, one of the authors, claimed to PEOPLE Magazine that “little progress” had been made between Harry and his brother and dad.
He said: “I think he [Harry] is quite willing to own his part in everything, but I have been told that he is also waiting to see some of that on the other side – and as of now there hasn’t been that.”
Scobie also claimed that it was son Archie who inspired the Sussexes to stand up for what they believed to be right.
