Meghan Markle and Prince Harry shocked the world with some major ‘truth bombs’ earlier this year when they sat down with Oprah for a tell-all interview and now a new chapter from Finding Freedom has more controversial insight.
According to a leaked epilogue, the former royals considered naming the member of the monarchy who had allegedly made a racist remark about their unborn child but chose not to do so at the last moment.
An updated edition of the unofficial biography claims the pair weighed up ‘sharing this detail’ before ultimately deciding that it would be ‘very damaging to them.’
The book criticizes Buckingham Palace for not taking ‘full ownership’ of the allegations, explaining that the phrase ‘recollections may vary’ issued in a follow-up statement was unsatisfactory and the ‘unaddressed’ allegations ‘could no doubt bring down the monarchy’.
Of the Oprah interview itself, Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand’s book claims Prince William was ‘furious’ such private family matters were discussed in front of millions by his brother and his wife.
Meghan, meanwhile, is said to have found the interview ‘cathartic’ and ‘liberating’. That is according to a friend who was interviewed for the piece.
The new edition of the unauthorized biography, which lands on 31 August, adds that Meghan and Harry have ‘no regrets’ about parting ways with their royal duties despite the fracture from the fallout.
Further claims suggest the royal family were ‘quietly pleased’ that Meghan was unable to attend the funeral of Prince Philip back in April (she was not cleared to fly as she was pregnant with daughter Lilibet at the time).
A source claims royals were rather relieved that the former Suits actress was not in the position to travel with Harry as they ‘didn’t want a circus’ or ‘the duchess creating a spectacle’.

The new version of the book also alleges Meghan and Harry feel courtiers are still trying to undermine them by leaking information about them – including claims that Meghan bullied palace staff.
According to sources, this ‘attempt to discredit’ Meghan is a firm ‘reminder’ to the couple that they made the right decision to leave the royal family in the first place.
Quotes published by MailOnline also suggest courtiers had told the press Meghan and Harry had no desire for Archie to be made a prince when in fact the pair did want that ‘given that it would provide their son with a level of security that only comes with a title’.
Further claims include that Meghan and Harry ‘wouldn’t have survived their move to America if it wasn’t for Harry’s inheritance from Princess Diana.
