Meghan Markle has received non-stop criticisms from Piers Morgan, but the latter said the duchess has helped his career.
Meghan Markle has gained thousands of supporters and followers when she started dating Prince Harry. Piers Morgan was among Markle’s pals whom she allegedly ghosted when she started dating the royal. Morgan has been criticizing Markle but acknowledged her contribution in boosting his career.
Piers Morgan reunited with his former Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid when he received his broadcasting award at the TRIC Awards in Central London. He beat Reid in the News Presenter award category.

After receiving his award, Morgan told Daily Star he thanked Meghan Markle for helping boost his career. He expressed his gratitude to the duchess when asked how she might think about his newest victory.
“Who cares… she’s been great for my career, to be honest with you, so I just want to thank her,” Morgan said. “We haven’t heard much out of her since the Ofcom win. It was a victory for free speech and whether people like me or don’t like me, we are all entitled to an opinion.”
Morgan scored a victory over Markle when after he was cleared by the British media regulator, Ofcom. The board ruled that he did not breach the broadcasting code when he criticized Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Morgan reacted to Markle’s interview saying he didn’t believe she was suicidal. He dismissed Markle’s mental health struggles and said he did not “believe a word,” she said.
Ofcom received 57,793 complaints including one from Markle, herself. The regulator said the network and Morgan did not do any wrongdoing. The board added that while his comments were “potentially harmful and offensive” it “took full account of freedom of expression.”
Piers Morgan and Meghan Markle were once friends. They even followed each other on Twitter when the duchess was still active on social media, Insider reported.

In 2015, he shared an article Markle wrote about her personal experience with racism. The TV presenter called it “brilliant.” From fall 2015 to spring 2016, Morgan said Markle was sending him screen episodes of Suits.
In June 2016, Morgan tagged Markle in a tweet saying it was great to finally meet her. In November 2017, Morgan commented on Prince Harry and Markle’s engagement saying “his friend” will be the “perfect modern bride.”
In January 2018, months before the royal wedding, Markle deleted her Instagram and Twitter accounts. All of her contacts with Morgan were cut.

In September 2018 Morgan appeared on the Late Late Show. During the interview, he recounted her great meetup with Markle. He also said he really liked the actress-turned-duchess. However, “she ghosted me, Ryan,” he told host Ryan Tubridy.
“She’s just a slight social climber, I’m afraid,” he added. Since then Morgan has become one of Markle’s greatest critics.
