Prince Charles ‘adviser Michael Fawcett has temporarily resigned as executive director of His Highness’ charitable foundation after allegations of trafficking in medals. BBC News reports this.
According to the source of the publication, the son of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain did not know anything about the incident.

The former valet of Prince Charles was accused of helping a businessman from Saudi Arabia by journalists of The Sunday Times. It is alleged that Mahfouz Marei Mubarak bin Mahfouz has been trying to obtain a British passport since 2011.
Fawcett, in turn, promised to help him in this in exchange for generous donations. In 2016, the entrepreneur received the Order of the British Empire in exchange for donations of 1.5 million pounds.

On the recommendation of the Prince’s advisers, the British Foreign Ministry and the Kingdom’s Embassy in Riyadh helped to present Mahfouz for the award.
According to the publication, the donations were directed to projects of His Highness’s foundation, including the restoration of two historical buildings that Prince Charles uses as residences.
It is not specified whether Fawcett received a monetary reward for his services. The foundation is currently conducting an internal investigation.
