We’re nearly halfway through 2016, and the year has already been peppered with high-profile celebrity breakups. We’ve seen broken engagements, broken vows, and the splits of both long-term and newer relationships and while we haven’t quite reached 2015 breakup levels yet, we’re still charting the separations of famous couples so far this year. Keep reading to see them all now, then look back at all the breakups that have shocked us the most over time.
1. Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne
In May, a source close to Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne revealed that the couple was divorcing after nearly 34 years of marriage. The source said that the split was mutual and that Ozzy had allegedly moved out of the house for the time being. Ozzy and Sharon tied the knot in 1982 and have three children together; Aimee, Kelly, and Jack.
2. Zac Efron and Sami Miró
In April, Zac Efron split from his girlfriend of nearly two years, stylist and model Sami Miró. The couple was last seen showing PDA at the MTV Movie Awards earlier that month.
3. Jenny Slate and Dean Fleischer-Camp
In May, actress Jenny Slate and her husband, a film editor, split after four years of marriage. A source told Us Weekly that the couple “grew apart” and that “it wasn’t a bad breakup.”
4. Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman
It was announced in April that Drew and her husband of nearly four years, art consultant Will Kopelman, were planning to divorce. They tied the knot in June 2012 and have two daughters together, Olive and Frankie.
5. Brandon Barash and Kirsten Storms
General Hospital’s Brandon Barash and Kirsten Storms filed for divorce after nearly three years of marriage in April. In a statement released to Soap Opera Digest, Brandon cited “cliché irreconcilable differences,” but said he and Kirsten were “splitting amicably.” The pair has one child together.
6. Liza Weil and Paul Adelstein
In April, How to Get Away With Murder’s Liza Weil filed for divorce from her husband of nine years, fellow Shondaland star Paul Adelstein. Liza reportedly cited irreconcilable differences in her court papers. The couple has one child together.
7. Rose McGowan and Davey Detail
At the beginning of February, actress Rose McGowan filed for divorce from her husband of three years, visual artist Davey Detail. Rose, who listed their separation date as May 1, 2015, also asked the judge to reject any requests for spousal support from Davey.
8. Lea Michele and Matthew Paetz
Lea Michele and Matthew Paetz ended their relationship in February after nearly two years together. The Scream Queens star met Matthew on the set of her “On My Way” music video back in April 2014, and he was the first person she dated after the death of her boyfriend and former Glee costar Cory Monteith.
9. Idris Elba and Naiyana Garth
At the end of February, Idris Elba split from his girlfriend of three years, Naiyana Garth. The Luther star began dating the makeup artist during in 2013, and a year later, they welcomed a baby boy named Winston Elba. Two months after their breakup, Idris and Naiyana appeared to have reconciled when they hit the red carpet for the BAFTA Television Awards together.
10. Nina Dobrev and Austin Stowell
Nina Dobrev went back on the market in February when she split from her actor boyfriend, Austin Stowell. The two dated for seven months, with a source close to the couple saying that the relationship “started to get hard with both of their schedules and they remain on good terms.”
11. Peter Facinelli and Jaimie Alexander
Peter Facinelli and Jaimie Alexander called off their engagement in February after nearly four years together. In an official statement, a rep for the couple said, “Due to conflicting family and work commitments on opposite coasts, and after much consideration, Peter and Jaimie have chosen to part ways amicably and remain good friends.”
12. Khloé Kardashian and James Harden
Khloé Kardashian and NBA star James Harden began dating in July 2015 but called it quits in February due to their extremely busy schedules. Not long after the split, Khloé got back in the game by joining OKCupid.
13. Steve-O and Kat Von D
In March, Steve-O and Kat Von D split after a few months of dating. The couple confirmed their romance in January but were first linked in November 2015. The biggest indicator of the end of their relationship? Both the Jackass star and tattoo artist deleted all pictures of each other from their Instagram accounts.
14. Casey Affleck and Summer Phoenix
After nearly 10 years of marriage and 16 years together, Casey Affleck and Summer Phoenix decided to call it quits. In March, the actor’s rep confirmed the news, saying, “Casey Affleck and Summer Phoenix have amicably separated. They remain very close friends.” The brother of Ben Affleck and sister of Joaquin Phoenix began dating in 2000 and have two children together.
15. Frances Bean Cobain and Isaiah Silva
In March, it was announced that Frances had filed for divorce from her husband of nearly two years, The Eeries singer Isaiah Silva. TMZ reported that the daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love stated in documents that she is willing to pay spousal support but that Isaiah does not have a right to any of her late father’s $450 million estate.
16. Kirsten Dunst and Garrett Hedlund
After a little over four years of dating, Kirsten Dunst and Garrett Hedlund called it quits in April.
17. James McAvoy and Anne-Marie Duff
In May, James McAvoy and his wife of nine years, Anne-Marie Duff, announced their plans to divorce: “It is with tremendous sadness that we have come to the decision to divorce,” the couple said in a statement. “We enter this next phase with continued friendship, love and respect for one another and the shared focus of caring for our son.” The pair tied the knot in 2006 and welcomed their son Brendan in 2010.
18. Henry Cavill and Tara King
The Batman v Superman actor reportedly called it quits with his 19-year-old girlfriend in May.
19. Amber Heard and Johnny Depp
In May, it was reported that Amber Heard filed for divorce from Johnny Depp after over a year of marriage.
