Earlier today, Kim Kardashian took to her website to share her six favorite red carpet moments of the past year. Here they are.
Balmain, BET Honors
This is a pretty clear mix of Kanye’s all-black everything style and Kim’s simpler attitude.
Jean Paul Gaultier, Grammy Awards
Ignoring the fact that Kim is wearing a glorified robe here, you just know that Kanye wanted Kim to wear
something like this when he was going to be photographed with her all night. He really desperately wants people to think he has good taste, and given the fact that Kim has said on more than one occasion that Kanye hand- selects her wardrobe, he’d want people to think he picked this out and that he has all this access to high-end designers. Sit down, Kanye. We liked Kim’s style just fine before you tried to mess with it.
Sophie Theallet, TIME 100 Gala
Things are starting to get a little bit sheer around the boobs, which hints a little bit at Kanye’s hand, but it’s still simple, flattering, and very, very pretty. Also, never forget that the TIME Gala red carpet gave us
this glorious photo.
Peter Dundas for Roberto Cavalli, Met Gala
While we don’t doubt that Kim loves this look considering how much she loves being basically naked in public, We don’t believe for one second that Kanye had nothing to with this look. Case in point: Beyonce showed up to the Met Gala in a similar naked dress, and we all know how much Kanye loves Beyonce.
Proenza Schouler, CFDA Awards
We know this is Proenza Schouler, and as much as we really did love the leather Proenza Schouler dress Miley Cyrus wore to the Paranoia premiere in 2013, this is just horrifying. Kim, I’mma let you finish, but stop letting Kanye make fashion choices.
Valentino, The InStyle Awards
This, in all honesty, is actually in top 10 for all-time favorite looks of 2015. It’s simple, chic, and perfect maternity wear. Then again, it is Valentino, so it’s perfection isn’t surprising.
Based on what we’ve seen of Kim’s style pre-Kanye and post-scary 2000′s wardrobe, her personal style is
relatively simple, and this white gown feels very Kim. No real Kanye influence here, IMHO, which makes me like it even more.
