She stars in new crime thriller television series Matador. And Nicky Whelan looked to be inspired by Spanish flamenco dancers when she walked the red carpet at the show’s premiere in Cannes.

The Australian actress and model donned a chic black jumpsuit that featured delicate lace on the decolletage and back.
She brought some Spanish fire with a bold red lip, and kept her blonde hair pulled back in a chingnon. In fitting with the theme, a mariachi band played as guests walked the red carpet. Nicky, 33, stars in the leading female role in the action-thriller which premiered on El Rey on July 15.
The series charts the life of popular soccer star Tony ‘Matador’ Bravo who is also a skilled covert operative for the CIA. ‘I’ve never really played a character like this before,’ the former Neighbours star told Collider in July. ‘I’ve predominantly done comedy, over the years.

To get to play a head of the CIA in my department, who’s a kick-ass boss lady that runs around shooting people, doing stunts and running the show, I’m really grateful for this role.
‘It’s an enormous challenge for me. It’s very different from anything I’ve ever done before.’ Nicky has had small screen roles, in Scrubs, Entourage and Workaholics among others, and also starred in films including Hall Pass and Paranormal Movie.
In may it was announced she’d split from her boyfriend of six months, fellow actor Chad Michael Murray.
