LOS ANGELES- From Milan to Istanbul, Rome to Paris, CeCe Hendriks is inspired by the children’s clothing and accessories she sees in her travels abroad. She wanted to bring high-end fashion at affordable prices to her hometown in Los Angeles.
Being a mom herself, she noticed her son Jordan was always quickly growing out of his beautiful garments and realized she had to create a space to prolong the life of his gorgeous wardrobe, and SPOILED! was born. An online platform consigning children’s new and gently worn designer clothing, SPOILED! was created to meet the growing demand for consignment shops specializing in children’s items, where the latest fashions from moms’ favorite brands are offered at a fraction of the original price. The consignment clothing industry is emerging in direct response to the savvy consumer trying to survive in the economic downturn, and has surfaced as a trend to “dress to impress for less.”
SPOILED! embodies the three essentials of online luxury shopping: affordability, convenience, and exclusivity. One-hundred percent authentic, Hendriks’ pieces include collectables from European and American designers like Gucci, Burberry, Ralph Lauren and Dolce & Gabbana. “Only the finest quality merchandise is selected for our site,” Hendriks explains, and all goods sold on the site and in the showroom are approved and certified as authentic before authorized for sale.”I love beautiful clothing for my son Jordan, and I know it sounds ridiculous to spend $200.00 on a pair of Burberry pants that he will outgrow quickly. For many mothers like me, this online platform allows us to get some of our money back plus it lets someone else enjoy the designer items at a fraction of the cost: that’s a win-win for everyone,” she says.
SPOILED! is currently accepting inventory submissions from individuals and boutiques with clothing for ages 0 to 14 years. SPOILED! will offer a 50% consignment commission of the selling price. If the item is not sold after 90 days, the consignee has the choice to have the item returned or donated to Baby2Baby, which is one of SPOILED!’s charitable partners.
To help families across America in need, SPOILED! has joined forces with Baby2Baby, a charity that supplies less fortunate families with essential baby gear and clothing for their children, and will donate 10% of SPOILED’s net profit on sales to the organization, plus a portion of un-sold clothing. “We are a new company but it was important that our business model incorporated an initiative to help those in need, especially the children,” says Hendrik’s. By distributing new and gently used items to over 40 non-profit organizations, Baby2Baby reaches over 50,000 children each year. Baby2Baby works with homeless and domestic violence shelters, Head Start programs, and children’s hospitals to provide children’s essentials to families in need, including: clothing, diapers, strollers, cribs, car seats, and other gear. SPOILED! is excited to work with Baby2Baby by donating funds to help supply these agencies and the people they help with the most basic needs of their families. “It’s tough being a child now-a-days and our assistance will help give children confidence in their appearance and that can foster confidence in other parts of their lives,” says Hendriks;
