Plaka Beach is known for its white sand and its crystal aqua colored water. The beach is a calm and endless sandy oasis and in some parts you are able to find big, flat stones, giving it a unique charm. Although it attracts many families due to its shallow waters, Voutoumi is known as a preferred destination for private yachts, water taxis and tour boats. What is great about Voutoumi is that it has barely been touched. There is a tavern on the hill behind the beach that serves traditional Greek snacks but there are no shops or other facilities in this secluded area. 8. Myrtos Beach, Kefalonia

This stunning beach is known for its unique characteristics; its black sand and crystal waters create a stunning visual. The main attraction at Perissa Beach is the enormous rock called Mesa Vuono that rises from the sea. Visitors are left in awe of the stunning view of the rock, especially as it shines in the dark. Perissa is an incredible tourist location during the summer season. The village offers a vast variety of hotels for all budgets as well as restaurants, cafés, bars and taverns. 4. Elafonisi, Crete
The incredibly crystal-like clear water of Elafonisi Beach is what makes it so incredible, beautiful and special. Located in stunning Crete, the turquoise waters have attracted travellers for centuries. This natural beach is filled with pure white sandbars and a natural islet, which has remained virtually untouched. What is very special about this beach is that in some lights the sand takes on a pink glow, said to be from coral particles in the sand. The extremely shallow waters make Elafonisi ideal for children, however the power and beauty of this location has no age limit.

3. Red Beach, Santorini
Arguably the most famous and beautiful beach in Santorini, Red Beach is located steps away from the ancient Akrotiri. The beach is unique and beautiful but it is very small and sometimes creates a crowded atmosphere, however, its beauty is worth visiting. The walk on the way down to the beach is spectacular; the unique landscape of red and black volcanic rocks is truly an incredible sight. For those who are fans of snorkelling, Red Beach is a perfect place to do it. The beach is easily accessible and it takes about 2 minutes to get to from the parking.
2. Navagio Beach, Zakynthos
Better known as Shipwreck Cove, Navagio is the most famous beach in Zakynthos. Shipwreck Cove is one of the most photographed destinations in Greece and is known as one of the best beaches in the country. It earned its name of in 1983 when a boat that was transporting illegal cigarettes washed up on its shore. With each year that passes the ship sinks a little deeper into the sand, but it can still be clearly seen in the middle of the large, white, beautiful sandy beach. The turquoise, crystal-like water is unbelievably beautiful. Big, vertical cliffs made up of white rocks surround the sand, creating a uniquely enchanting image.
1. Sarakiniko, Milos
This beach is arguably the nicest beach in Milos and surely the most peculiar one. Located along the coastal road, it is the most photographed location on the island. Its unique landscape is both impressive and unforgettable; the long, horizontal rocks, which have been eroded by time and salt water, are bent over the sea with both large and small hollows covering them. The entire landscape is formed by volcanic rocks. Showing no sign of vegetation, it’s colored entirely in a bright white, creating a stunning contrast with the deep blue and turquoise of the water. Sarakiniko gives you the feeling of standing on the surface of the moon, it is truly an incredible place.
