Alessandro Varisco, chief executive officer of Moschino, is leaving the fashion house to take the helm of women’s wear-maker Twin-Set Simona Barbieri, WWD has learned.
Contacted by WWD on Monday, Aeffe SpA, the company that controls Moschino, confirmed that Varisco is leaving his position on June 30.
According to sources, Varisco is expected to take his new position in Twin-Set in July. Twin-Set is controlled by the Carlyle Group’s Italian buyout fund, which is eyeing an initial public offering for the brand later this year or in the first half of 2016.
Twin-Set was unavailable for comment.
After his departure from Moschino, Varisco’s duties will be held on an interim basis by Massimo Ferretti, executive president of Aeffe Group, and Marcello Tassinari, Aeffe Group managing director and chief financial officer.

Varisco has been Moschino ceo since April 2009. According to his LinkedIn profile, prior to arriving in Moschino, Varisco served as managing director at Roberta di Camerino in 2008-09 and, prior to that, as sales and marketing director at Gianfranco Ferrè from 2003 to 2008.
