Are Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt on the verge of a divorce? Reports of a split have the plagued the couple in recent months. Now, it appears as though things are turning for the worse. According to the Hollywood Gossip, Jolie has already started talking to lawyers about drawing up divorce papers.“Angie is ready to divorce Brad,” an insider explained. “She’s fed up with what her life has become and wants to make a change.”
Apparently, Jolie met with her lawyers last week about divorcing Pitt. This meeting surprised Pitt, who quickly flew to Los Angeles to update his attorneys on the situation. “He was blindsided, but he’ll meet with his lawyer to discuss his options regarding custody and protecting his earnings,” the insider continued. “The divorce is bound to get ugly.” Jolie and Pitt met during their work on Mr. & Mr. Smith and eventually married in 2014. They have six children together, many of them adopted. According to the International Business Times, the divorce could prove costly to both stars. In fact, the settlement is estimated to top $450 million and includes multiple properties around the world. In order to make things easier, Jolie and Pitt are planning on selling their luxurious property in France, the Chateau Miraval.
Although divorce rumors have circulated for months, the final straw came after a dramatic fight in London. Jolie and Pitt are currently in the U.K. while he finished up his newest film. “She’s fed up with what her life has become and wants to make a change,” the source stated. To complicate matters further, Pitt faced rumors of infidelity with Marion Cotillard, his co-star in the movie Allied. This isn’t the first time Pitt has been embroiled in an affair. Back in 2005, when Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston, he allegedly had an affair with Jolie. After dating for several years, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie married. The couple hoped their union would strengthen their relationship. “Despite their longstanding issues, Brad and Angie truly thought that getting married would bring them closer together,” an insider explained. “The kids pressured them [to get married], and it seemed like the right decision at the time.”
