Explaining the separation, Angelina, 45, revealed that she made the decision because she wanted to focus on the wellbeing of her family and children, saying, “I separated for the wellbeing of my family. I continue to focus on their healing.”
She also opened up about the effect the rumours surrounding her split from Brad have had on their six children, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne. She added, “Some have taken advantage of my silence, and the children see lies about themselves in the media, but I remind them that they know their own truth and their own minds.”
Angelina continued, “In fact, they are six very brave, very strong young people.” And they certainly seem so to us.
The star has previously opened up about how her children helped her to find herself again, telling Harper’s Bazaar, “My children know my true self, and they have helped me to find it again and to embrace it. They have been through a lot. I learn from their strength.”
She also revealed how her plans to move away from her US base were still dependent on Brad, explaining, “I would love to live abroad and will do so as soon as my children are 18. Right now Im having to base where their father chooses to live.”
